A pandemic affecting the whole world, Coronavirus also known as COVID-19, has left people suffering in terms of economic conditions and livelihoods.A large number of people have lost their lives fighting this epidemic, while there is a huge number of who have no means to obtain food and other essential items. Various organisations and social workers are coming forward to help the needy in this hour. They have been in this business since 1996 and have a nurtured to maintain a large database of loyal customers and dedicated employees. Distributing dry ration and cooked food to the needy

NavkkarJewellers trust COL KC JAIN SHIKSHA JAIN CHARITABLE TRUST joined hands with MAHAVIR JAIN YUVAK MANDAL, Chandigarh for providing services during lockdown. Many underprivileged communities who have either lost jobs or being daily wage earners who have become unemployed as of a date within Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Zirakpur, and nearby areas are being provided with food packets. A kitchen has been set up at Jain Sthanak, Sector 18, Chandigarh to cook the meals. These are then distributed twice a day to approx 300 people.

Distributing food packets to doctors and nurses

We all know how efficiently the doctors, nurses, and medical staff are working in this crisis. Coronavirus has taken a toll on everyone. Doctors are working continuously. In such a situation the team of NavkkarJewellers made a kind gesture towards the medical staff. They served 1500 packs, 300 packs to PGI doctors, nurses along with 500 packs to poor and needy people in hospitals. The packets were made at the base kitchen wherein proper hygiene is maintained. Also, Chandigarh police supported this cause.

Donated PPE kits and other essentials to SSP Mohali

COL KC JAIN SHIKSHA JAIN CHARITABLE TRUST & MAHAVIR JAIN YUVAK MANDAL in Chandigarh teamed up with NavkkarJewellers for donating protective gears and essential items to the police force in Mohali. They are the ones who are checking the safety by staying at the front. Hence, for their protection, the trust has donated 50 disposable PPE kits, gloves, washable protective suits, 100 disposable face masks, 300 sanitizer bottles, 300 lemon juice, and biscuit packs. Giving support to women

Women are also facing a lot of issues as their essential need is using sanitary napkins during menstruation. Even though medical stores are open, many females are not able to visit the stores due to safety reasons. Keeping this in mind, Lt.COL KC JAIN SHIKSHA JAIN TRUST & MJYM, Sector 18 Chandigarh decided to donate 550 Packets each of 7 Sanitary napkins to the Department of Mother and Child Development and Social Welfare. These were distributed to ladies and girls in various areas like Rajiv Colony, New Maloya Colony, Dainik Bhaskar Colony & Rehabilitation Colony Dhanas. This is an essential gift for ladies.

Blood Donation Camp

Blood had gone in scarcity due to COVID-19 as there were no donors coming up. Trying to help in this area as well, Lt.COL KC JAIN SHIKSHA JAIN TRUST & MJYM, Sector 18 Chandigarh came up and decided to support this area as well. They organized a Blood Donation Camp at Jain Sthanak, Sector 18 on the 3rd of May. 75 units of blood was donated to PGI, Chandigarh. To summarize, for serving the needy, NavkkarJewellers in Chandigarh welcomes donations for continuing their social service initiative. They are ensuring that essential items are available to the needy. Also, with that, they are serving health warriors and the police force both in Chandigarh and Mohali.
